Photo tips for birds
A front or three-quarter photo on a perch works best: the tiara or crown sits on the head and the cape over the wings. Keep the whole bird in the frame.

Birds already wear crowns
Cockatiels have crests and parrots have attitude, so a royal portrait suits them. The style adds a tiara or crown, pearls and a velvet cape with an ermine collar, painted in warm oil-portrait colors over their own feathers.
Choose King, Queen, Prince or Princess after you upload. The sample is Kiwi, a green budgie, as a queen in a blue cape and pearls. Add a title such as Queen Kiwi or Captain Feathers.

Questions
Will the crest show on a cockatiel?
Yes. The crown sits around or behind the crest, which stays visible.
Does it work for large parrots?
Yes, macaws, African greys and Amazons all work. Use a close photo where the face and beak are sharp.
How does the design work?
You upload a photo, and our AI artist redraws your bird in the style you pick. You see the design on the mug before you pay, and we print exactly that design (without the PREVIEW watermark).
Is the preview really free?
Yes. You can make a few free designs a day without an account or card. You only pay if you order.
What photo works best?
One bird, face clearly visible, in good light and close up. Photos where they are small, blurry or in a group work less well.
Can I change the name?
Yes. Type it in and it updates on the mug straight away. After you order, reply to your confirmation email within 2 hours if anything needs fixing, before it goes to print.
When will it arrive?
It takes 2 to 5 business days to print, then 3 to 7 business days to ship in the US. For Christmas, order by December 4.
What if it arrives damaged or misprinted?
Email us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we reprint it free, shipped free. You don't need to send it back.
What happens to my photo?
We use it only to make your design. Photos are deleted automatically within 60 days, and we never use them in ads without asking you first.
In loving memory
A soft watercolor portrait from a favorite photo, with their name and a few words. Older photos work well.
