Best Sites for a Personalized Pet Mug, Compared
Updated November 3, 2026
The best site for a personalized pet mug depends on whether you want your photo printed as-is or your pet turned into art. For a plain photo mug at the lowest price, Shutterfly, VistaPrint and Zazzle cost about $10–$17 for 11 oz. For a drawn portrait of the pet, specialist shops charge $30–$40. We're one of those ($34.99, free US shipping, drawn by AI), and one of the few where you see the finished portrait free before paying.

Verdicts by what you need
- Cheapest, and the photo is already great: Shutterfly or VistaPrint. You do the layout yourself.
- Your pet as art, and you want to see it before paying: us. The preview is the exact mug we print.
- A proof from a design team, and two weeks is fine: Crown & Paw.
- A hand-illustrated portrait without a proof step: West & Willow.
- Something unusual from an independent maker: Etsy. Check whether it's sublimation or a vinyl decal before buying, because decal mugs are usually hand wash only.
What separates a $10 mug from a $35 one
- The art. Cheap mugs print your photo; specialist mugs redraw your pet, removing the background and fixing a dark or busy photo.
- The proof. With self-design sites you are the designer. With portrait shops someone (or something) designs it, and whether you see it first varies a lot, as the table shows.
- Shipping. Several specialists add $10 unless you spend $75–$100.
What we are, plainly

Questions
Which is fastest?
Self-design sites and print-on-demand shops that print immediately are fastest. Ours is made in 2 to 5 business days, then 3 to 7 days in the post. Shops that draw by hand or send proofs add days to weeks before printing.
Which mugs are dishwasher safe?
Shutterfly, VistaPrint, Cuddle Clones and ours all state dishwasher and microwave safe. More on what to look for: [is a custom pet mug dishwasher safe?](/blog/is-a-custom-pet-mug-dishwasher-safe/)
Can I get a mug of a pet that isn't a dog or cat?
Yes, with us: guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, birds, horses, chickens and bearded dragons too. Self-design photo sites work with any photo as well.
How did you choose these sites?
They're the shops named most often when we asked AI assistants which sites to use for a personalized pet mug, plus the big photo-printing sites. Prices were read from each shop's site on November 3, 2026.
